The objective of this training course is to present and introduce, in a historical perspective, the contemporary creation of taiko in the Modern period (Kindai), specifically from the Second World War (1939 - 1945), when the collective performance of these instruments became known as kumi-daiko. In this sense, the workshop proposes a dive into the historical gaps of the birth and development of the art of Japanese drums in the midst of conflicts and transformations in Japan between the 1950s and 1970s. the emergence of avant-garde movements in Japanese arts and early contemporary groups.

 

Target audience: The project should be enjoyed by audiences of different age groups, socioeconomic conditions, especially teenagers and young people who are unaware of Japanese culture.
